I’m thinking of changing my name to Night Rider. For the first time ever I rode my bike after dark. Yeah, it may have only been for 9 blocks, but it was the best ride ever!! Picture this: 11:30 pm, you are wearing a little black dress to a friends birthday party, you’ve already had a few beers and a couple glasses of wine, then you decide it’s time to go home….on your bike, so you hop on your hot little ride and go as fast as you can, laughing the whole way because you can’t remember when you’ve felt so alive.
Since we are not eating out this week or even going to coffee shops (Dan said coffee counts as eating out…I disagree, but obeyed anyway), we have needed to find other excuses to get out of the house. Each evening we’ve been taking a walk after dinner. We’ve also made 2 trips the library this week. On Monday I took my first solo bike ride! It was a fun ride and much easier than the rides where I am chasing Dan. I decided to bike to the library where I picked up a book called “Reading Like a Writer”. Yesterday, I took Dan to the library (in the car, not on bikes). He got a library card and we both came home with treasures. I love listening to audio books while I craft or do stuff around the house. So, I brought home Faulkners, “The Hamlet” to listen to while knitting. While walking through the library, something caught my eye. It was a knitting book, not just any knitting book, this is the coolest knitting book I’ve ever seen. One of my favorite projects in “DomiKNITrix” is a Mohawk Hat. It’s a knit cap with a faux-hawk. I plan to make copies of almost all the patterns and keep them on hand whenever I feel like being a badass knitter.
Today Dan took me out for my first real ride through the city. Today’s ride was enjoyable and involved much less cussing than yesterday’s ride.
Here’s a map of our journey to Gold’s Gym, The Fan (aka the best gym in Richmond). As you can see we avoided going up or down Church Hill.

The plan for tomorrow is to bike to Gold’s Gym and lift weights before biking home.
