Life I’m so excited about today that I woke up at 7:30. I never get up that early on the weekend. Dan is going on a fishing trip today with a couple of guy friends, so I get full run of the house! Right now I have covered our dining room table with beads and jewelry making supplies. I’m going to spend most of the morning making jewelry to sell at the Strawberry St. Festival. It will be the first time that I’m selling my jewelry to the public. I’m very nervous about it.
After the jewelry making I will clean house, garden, go to a beer festival, hit up a girl’s night and then crash onto my bed. Oh, Saturday, I love you!!

Life It was just one of “those” weeks this week. A couple of not so great days at work. A couple of restless nights. Too many things added to the to-do list and none taken off. Then, today started out to be cold and gloomy. But, by some miracle things turned around…the sun came out and I worked on my favorite project at work (thus far), then I came home to roses, pizza and wine. Now I fully expect to win the lottery tonight.

After a few conversations about what to get each other for Christmas this year, Dan & I decided not to exchange gifts at all. In years past we’ve try to be somewhat creative with our gift-giving. One year we set a limit of $30. Other years we’ve exchanged poetry books and gifts to inspire creativity. Last year we promised new tattoos to each other. But this year it seems more frustrating to come up with gift idea than it is worth. Anyone else not exchanging gifts with their spouse this year?

This little definition from Urban Dictionary describes at least half of the communication that occurs in my marriage.

Life Today I have been reflecting on the beautiful weekend that I just experienced. My good friend Alisha is getting married next month and her bachelorette party was this past weekend. I hope everyone knows what it is like to have a friend so special to them that they live for moments like this, moments when they get to celebrate happiness and joy in the lives of their friends. I cherish Alisha, especially since she has been so caring of me for these past few months and therefore, this weekend was important and meaningful for me because I got to celebrate my friend.
It was the perfect bachelorette party. Alisha invited 7 of her lady friends for a weekend of wine tasting in Charlottesville. The vineyards we visited had incredible wine and gorgeous views. I’m sure the view will be even more breath-taking this fall as the leaves change.
We spent the afternoon taking in the beauty of mountains and life of the wine. That evening we had a meal that was so good and plentiful that we couldn’t do anything other than get back to our hotel and go to bed. The next morning we woke up, ate brownies for breakfast, and spent a couple of hours playing at the pool. I’ve never been on a trip with so many women that didn’t really know each other. But we got along beautifully and had fun celebrating together. We will all get to gather again in a month at Alisha & Casey’s wedding, where I’m sure we will be drinking more wine.

Life On our five year anniversary Dan & I decided to try on our wedding clothes. I haven’t tried on my wedding dress since our wedding day. With Dan’s help I was able to get it zipped up……
