The life of the unemployed - Day 1

I know all of you are dying to know how I spent my first day of unemployment. After spending a weekend sulking, I decided to be productive today. But, first I needed to watch the latest episode of Lipstick Jungle. Then, I updated my resume, website and my Aquent profile. Applied for some jobs and informed my staffing agency (Aquent) that I’m available for work. I also started organizing a small home office for me (aka Leashal Headquarters).

Now I’m going to make some tea and read myself to sleep.

Hey Church Hill

Hey fellow neighbors in Church Hill, I’ve got a few questions.

1 - Do any of you know someone up here on the hill that can teach me how to reupholster furnture?

2 - Do you guys know where I can take my large area rugs to be cleaned?

3 - If any of you have that pesky problem of cold air leaking up through your old, hardwood floors during the winter - and you know how to fix it (without replacing the 100 year old heart pine floor), please give me some ideas.

Back Pain

I’m expecting a good deal of back pain to set in on Sunday or Monday. That is because I am going to spend most of tomorrow moving 2 tons of rocks to make a patio and a walkway through our backyard. When it’s finished and I’m laid up b/c of the back pain - I’ll post some pics.

Manless Saturday

I’m so excited about today that I woke up at 7:30. I never get up that early on the weekend. Dan is going on a fishing trip today with a couple of guy friends, so I get full run of the house! Right now I have covered our dining room table with beads and jewelry making supplies. I’m going to spend most of the morning making jewelry to sell at the Strawberry St. Festival. It will be the first time that I’m selling my jewelry to the public. I’m very nervous about it.

After the jewelry making I will clean house, garden, go to a beer festival, hit up a girl’s night and then crash onto my bed. Oh, Saturday, I love you!!
